Alberta has a lot of national parks. 54,000 square kilometers in all. Alberta has 4 major regions; prairie, dry and tree less and rolling grasslands. Alberta is also the 4th largest province. The Rocky mountains separate Alberta and BC.

The Calgary Stampede attracts tourism. They do bull riding and wagon racing. They have a Dinosaur provincial park. There is camping at places like Banff national park. Also there is camping at Jasper national park. There is kayaking witch is always fun. Also there is Calaway park.

Edmonton is the capital city of Alberta and is home to the NHL hockey team the Edmonton Oilers. Alberta is famous for their oil and gas industry. Banff national park is great for family and the outdoors and is surrounded by mountain peaks. The legislator is a building.

On September 1, 1905 Alberta became a province. They have hockey and football. Alberta is one of the three prairie provinces. 3.7 million people live in Alberta! That’s a lot! Alberta was named after a Princess. Alberta's motto is "strong and free" and it is known as Canada's "energy province". It is the fourth largest province.

People first settled in Alberta about 8000 years ago. They were ranchers from England and the United States. Alberta's First Nations people traded furs with the ranchers and received guns, blankets and metal goods in exchange. More people moved into Alberta when the railroad was built in 1883.
